Xbox Live Party

Does anyone else seem to have the worst luck ever when it comes to party games? Now, I'm more of a single player gamer and I'm not too big on online multiplayer games, but there are a couple that I really like. Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead (2) are among the best, in my opinion. I love these games and play them all the time.

Unfortunately, they happen to also be among those few games that really really require communication and co-ordination among a team. Get a 16 person Halo map, or whatever, and you can all just do your thing. TF2 and L4D(2) are about teamwork.

Which is problematic at best, considering the usual teammates I seem to find...

  6. Left4Dead is all about Team work...TF2....less so.

I don't play Valve games on XBL because Valve has been, for me, a PC-related experience since the original Half-Life and I like to keep it that way.

I appreciate the Valve love, though, man. #Valvefanboy

  7. 50% of the time i get a "lone wolf" teammate. 50% I'll get a sadistic/destructive (tk'er) teammate. I'll stick with single player campaigns...

  8. Yeah, it can potentially be fun but it's sort of lost in the cacophony of poor organization and yelling.

  9. If you want to play alone in Hat Fortress play spy or sniper, they really don´t need anything from their teams

  12. haha happens to me all the time when I play Halo
It seems that the only people i ever get are 12, someone that leaves during the match (like actually walk off from the controller), and someone that is just starting

  13. That's one area where Steam really outdoes XBL. Communicating online on computer games is a simple thing: grab a head set and you're ready to go.

On XBL, only about half of the players you find have headsets, and only half of them are over the age of 15.
